EventPower was first launched to keep the Mighty Hamptons Triathlon, one of the premier endurance events in the world during the mid-80’s, from extinction. A Long Island swimmer, triathlete and coach, Steve Tarpinian, grew the Mighty Hamptons race and EventPower, introducing many to the thrill of triathlon and pride of race-goal achievement. Sadly, Steve is no longer with us. He lost a long-standing battle with depression. His memory lives on in every athlete that knows the joy of finishing the famous Mighty Hamptons Triathlon; the Olympic-distance race in beautiful Sag Harbor that continues to thrive.

EventPower celebrates the memory of Steve for his athletic accomplishments as well as the passion and dedication he poured into triathlon, EventPower and every person he knew. The Mighty Hamptons Triathlon is now known as the Steve Tarpinian Memorial Mighty Hamptons race and each year we contribute to the Steve Tarpinian Memorial Fund.
